Valentine’s Day Heart Puzzle Cookies

Posted on January 14, 2013
Hi, Everyone! With exactly a month left until Valentine’s Day, I’m sharing the first of my Valentine’s Day projects with you today! My Valentine’s Day Heart Puzzle Cookies! They are just simple sugar cookies decorated with colored royal icing, and you can make them in any color combinations, and write whatever words or names you like on them! I didn’t have a cookie cutter for these so I just drew out a stencil and cut the cookies out using a knife, but I know they sell cookie cutters for these, so if you have one go ahead and use it! I used Martha Stewart’s basic sugar cookie recipe, and also her royal icing recipe. To gift package these, just place them in a pretty box or clear bag with some colorful shredded paper and tie with some ribbon! Super easy and super cute for Valentine’s Day!
.
Happy Baking, Everyone!

These are awesome! They would be perfect for my son’s preschool Valentine’s party (that somehow I am in charge of)…now if I just had the decorating skillz you have! Maybe I’ll make the cookies and let THEM do the decorating. Thanks for the idea!

Just stumbled on your blog when I searched for puzzle heart cookies! I know you didn’t use a cookie cutter, but how did you make sure the two pieces would fit together after being baked?? I would love to try making these for my sister’s bridal shower.
