Good Morning, Everybody! So since we are supposed to get our first snow of the season sometime this week (it may even be today! And even if it’s just a dusting, it still counts!), I thought it would be appropriate to share these Snowy Tree Sugar Cookies with you today!Β I used my favorite sugar cookie and royal icing recipes to make these (you can find both of them in THIS post), and you could even sprinkle some shimmery sugar on top of the “snow” to make it look sparkly! Sugar cookies are one of my favorite cookies, and I always have some frozen dough in my freezer, which is a great time saver. And with all the Christmas baking being just a couple of weeks away, I hope these little cookies give you some inspiration!
.
Happy Baking, Everyone!
They really do look like they’ve been dusted with snow – well done!
Thanks, Kate! They were so fun to decorate π Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks, Brigette!
The snowy branches look fantastic! I need to try this:)
Thanks so much, Sue! These were so fun to decorate, especially because you don’t have to worry about the white icing looking perfect since it’s supposed to look like snow! π Have a great weekend!
Oh my. Those are adorable. I love sugar cookies so I will be sure to add these to our Christmas Cookie List this year. I’d love it if you linked up with our weekly link up party and shared these amazing cookies!

Thank you so much!
These are so pretty! I would love to make these, although I’m not sure I could make them look as good as you did!
Thank you so much!
Those are so adorable! I really need to start decorating cookies this way, so are so much prettier! π
Thank you so much! I love decorating cookies, especially around the holidays! Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend! π
What beautiful cookies! I envy your abilities. π Pinned these so we could make them at Christmas–or in January when it’s freezing cold and all I want is my blanket and a warm fire.
Thank you so much!
Wow, I am in awe of your artistry, Maria! These are just incredibly adorable. I am going straight to your sugar cookie/royal icing recipes as soon as I post this comment. I can pretend that they will enable me to make cookies like yours! π
Thank you for creating such lovely work!
Love, Joy
P.S. What tools do you use to apply your royal icing? Thank you. π
Thank you so much for the sweet comment, Joy! As for what tools I use to apply the royal icing…. I use simple pastry bags (plastic disposable ones from Wilton) and I cut the tip off. I always outline the cookies first and then “flood” the interior with the icing.
Thank you for the info!
These are perfect! Wish I could decorate cookies like that.
Thanks so much, Megan!
I feel like an idiot now! Why have I never thought to add snow! I’ve added Christmas ornaments, lights, garland, but never snow! Great idea! π [#PinItThurs]
Thanks so much, Chris!

Love your sweet little cookies. They look simple enough to make and even though making cookies is not my thing, I may have to try these. They would make delightful gifts. Thanks for sharing. Going to Pin this for later use.

Thanks so much, Natasha!
So pretty! I hope I kept my Christmas tree cutters. Pinned instantly.
Thank you so much!
These are so lovely, I’ve never tried anything so professional looking myself. You make it look easy/achievable. Do they go soggy (the biscuits I mean) once the icing is on or does that depend on what icing you use? I’m wondering if I could make these as gifts and if so how soon before needing them I would have to make them?
Thanks so much, Julia! The cookies didn’t really get soggy (maybe we ate them too fast! Ha!), I’m thinking they would last and look nice for a couple of days, it probably depends on the kind of icing you use.
I love these, they are so festive and pretty. Visiting from Saturday Night Fever. Laura@baking in pyjamas
Thank you so much!
Wow! Definitely pinning these. They look too pretty to eat.
Thanks so much, Kathy!
Did you get snow after all? What perfect cookies! I love these cute little trees. Thanks for sharing them with us at Saturday Night Fever!
Thank you so much! And it didn’t snow! I was so disappointed! It’s pretty cold though, so maybe it’ll snow one of these days! Hope you had a good weekend!

Your sugar cookies are all so beautiful! I may use them again for my classroom like we did for Halloween. If I teach the kids to decorate like these, how should I pipe the snow on the branches?
http://friedgreenkimchi.com/2014/10/17/ghost-cookies-in-the-classroom/
Thanks so much, Lauren! To pipe the snow on the branches… I usually flood the whole cookie with the green icing, and then once it’s set, I pipe the “snow” on with white icing, just sort of around the branches. Hope that helps, and that the kids have fun decorating! π
