Hi Everyone! I have a quick and easy kitchen tip to share with you today, that’s all about cheese! Maybe you already do this, but if you don’t, you should definitely give this a try because it will make your life so much easier! If you are hand-grating a block of cheese or any kind of soft cheese, place it in your freezer for about 15 – 20 minutes (time depends on how soft the cheese is), or until it feels firm; this will make it much easier to grate!

Would you ever consider freezing either cheese or a cheese product for longer periods of time? Jennifer
Hi Jennifer! I know that people do freeze cheese for longer periods of time, I only ever put it in the freezer before grating it, I love this little trick. It works well for slicing mozzarella too, sometimes it’s hard to slice it thinly, but if you put it in the freezer for a little while, it firms up which makes it easier to slice! Hope you have a good weekend, thanks for stopping by today ๐
What a great tip, I never even knew that you could do that! Going to give it a try! ๐

It makes life so much easier! It works great for grating cheese, but also if you need to slice a soft cheese like Mozzarella… just pop it in the freezer for a little while and it’s so much easier to slice or grate! Hope you have a good weekend, Cathy! ๐
Great tip. Never occurred to me to do this.
Thanks, Karen! I’ve been doing this for a while and it makes cheese grating so much easier! Hope it helps you out too ๐ Thanks for stopping by!
Never thought to do this, but it makes sense!
It makes cheese grating so much easier! I love this little trick! Works great if you want to thinly slice soft cheese (like Mozzarella) too! ๐
